Those groovy wheels are hub based motors - the man was way ahead of his time!

Yep only about 50 or so because Porsche had already started production. They were seriously flawed due to the 'trap shot' caused by the rounded mantlet. It would deflect incoming rounds down into the driver and radio operator. Not exactly what you want to happen.

yep, I really hadn't noticed that. Clumsy of me especially being an ex-tanker. The later Tigers did have a flat manlet that solved that problem nicely. Proves Porsche can make a mistake I suppose!

Porsche just made the engine and would not be able to recall an airframe since they are not the airframe manufacturer. The Porsche engine (the PFM) was in the Mooney M20L. There is an STC to replace the engine, and most have been replaced. mooneypfm.com says there are still around 10 flying with the PFM engine.

linde forklift "the PORSCHE of lift trucks"

Often known as the most expensive conventional forklift company. Linde has used Porsche engineered solutions to make a top quality industrial tool!!!

Seeing the industrial motors makes one wonder if VW and Porsche were competing for the same customers. VW offered industrial versions of their engine too.

Porsche helped with the engine in the 2nd Gen (2003+) Renault Clio V6 (mid-engine hot hatch).
