Yep only about 50 or so because Porsche had already started production. They were seriously flawed due to the 'trap shot' caused by the rounded mantlet. It would deflect incoming rounds down into the driver and radio operator. Not exactly what you want to happen.

Porsche Indy car
![]() Porsche Indy engine ![]() Porsche just made the engine and would not be able to recall an airframe since they are not the airframe manufacturer. The Porsche engine (the PFM) was in the Mooney M20L. There is an STC to replace the engine, and most have been replaced. mooneypfm.com says there are still around 10 flying with the PFM engine. http://mooneypfm.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=67&Itemid=72 PFM = Porsche Flug Moter

Seeing the industrial motors makes one wonder if VW and Porsche were competing for the same customers. VW offered industrial versions of their engine too.

Porsche helped with the engine in the 2nd Gen (2003+) Renault Clio V6 (mid-engine hot hatch).
