Kelly Blue Book - WTF?
So, is the whole purpose of KBB to help dealers lowball people on cars? I'm looking at an '01 BMW S54 M Coupe, in excellent condition, 62k miles, and KBB sez it's worth $12k.

I don't see the problem. Offer the dealer $14K and tell him he should be happy he's making a good profit.

It's private party, and KBB is roughly 50% of what the guy is asking, which is also an issue for the financing.

OK. Understand now. Yes, KBB way undervalues certain cars like the one you're looking at. I have no idea how they get those values, as the amount you're hinting at is much closer to what I've found those cars going for.
