Our highway patrol seems to have exclusively adopted the Hemi Charger. Hard to run from 360 HP.

The Hi-Po in Oklahoma use a bunch of the Mustangs as well.

The ONLY way a criminal could outrun one of those would be in a Mustang. Anybody have a picture of a greenish one (for the environments sake).

totally not impressed. weak engine and skinny-ass tires. I imagine any 911 on this board could leave one of these squad cars in its dust. using their radio is only thing that would help them nail a perp.

fast driving is what the track is for. I just don't see what you're all ga-ga about concerning this car. it's an under-powered pig on skinny tires. or does it have a secret gererator to give it Ludicrous Speed?

You're reading more into it that I put into it...Just warning all what the new cop cars are going to look like.

I'm glad you're a track ace, Jim...

No even close to an ace, Paul, but I've been there. No q-tips for me.

BTW, the various fed cops here in DC run around in these things. I'd be more impressed if they all used Mustangs. Or 'vettes. Or Porsches!

BTW#2, the new 2011 Police Chebby will eat the Charger for lunch and go back for desert.

Wow! Look at some of the special equipment for cop cars:

# Rear trunk-lid key lock cylinder
# Separate key and key fob
# Column shifter
# AM/FM stereo radio with CD player, changer controls, four speakers, and clock
# Bright hubcaps

The column shifter makes sense as "an option" for these cars....their radios would go where the normal shifter would be.

Eh? 360 HP in a 3700 lb car? Over 4000 lb curb weight for the R/T version - why does the phrase "lard-ass pig" keep popping into my head?

It's hard to run from radio and helicopters. And law-abiding citizens always stop when called upon to do so by LEO - but even a 928 would spank that thing.

You guys talk all you want... I've seen an OHP charger take a cone slalom... Holy shat! Those cars can scoot. I'd say they would easily hang with most of you guys on the street. Remember these guys are trained in driving these cars as well. This isn't a game to them. Its life or death.
