Hey, Beep-Beep...you GOT IT! That's the rest of the world accordin' to us in the You-ass-hey! We're just a bunch of unworldly hicks. Now, I ask...anything you plan on doing about that? Sweden wants to declare war? (BTW, my ancestry is Swede...I used to have blonde hair, now it's lighter. But my eyes are still blue, and now I'm a USA boy, through and through!) Anita Eckberg, right? HOO-ahhhh...(edit) Now I think I've guaranteed this post will be moved. But you know? I'm tired of those in other countries telling us we're a bunch of unworldy and uncultured beasts here in the USA. If they were all so superior, wouldn't you think one of those countries would become THE world power? And now that we too have suffered a major terroist attack? Yeah...guess I am a little too sensitive about that subject. Beep-Beep? How many Swedish troops are over there serving in the war against terrorism?

"...unworldly and uncultured beasts..."? A little exagerated, but not much. Beasts? - no. Uncultured? - outside of the rich & magnificent culture developed here in the U.S., pretty much yes. Unworldly? - generally speaking, yes. The U.S. has, since about the time of Jefferson, embraced an unless-you-are-directly-important-to-us-we-don't-care isolationist policy. Nothing wrong with that. It's a perfectly justified, and perhaps necessary policy for any so-called 'super power'.

The sad irony, however, is the reason the U.S. was attacked was because we are a 'super power'. Monitoring world affairs is a critical necessity for less globally-influential countries. They must, it's their best and sometimes only defense. A country that cannot project military power cannot afford smug illusions regarding their security. More Americans have now learned the same lesson, albeit brutally.

I hope justice can be done, but it's a complicated task and not a sure thing.
