Porsche Crest Help a Pelican win a Porsche Sport Driving School Weekend

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Porsche is running a "60 Years of Passion in America" contest. They offered for people submit a short essay on their Porsche experience. My essay was selected by the Porsche judges to be one of the top twenty! They now have public voting for the best stories. If mine is one of the top 3, I get an all expense paid trip to a Porsche Sport Driving School weekend at Barber Motorsports in Birmingham (how cool is that?).

How about helping a Pelican brother by voting here: https://porsche.promo.eprize.com/passion/

Voting ends 10/31/10 at midnight so please do it as soon as possible.

My essay is marked: "Joe, Cleveland TN"

Thanks!

Maybe you should have posted in the 911 tech forum too.

LOL! 2 candidates begging for our votes...sounds familiar somehow. I'll say the same thing I said to the other guy. It took me several years to get off the Porsche spam & mailing list...don't want to give an email and get back on.

Good luck to ya both, tho...

Thanks to everyone who has voted so far. You can vote once a day. I'll be honest and admit there is one essay that is better than mine (a blind guy) but hey, he's not a Pelican.

A blind guy? I know that he has a right, but this is a Porsche driving school. All he's gonna get is the thrill of a ride at Barber Motorsports park. They should strap him in a Cayenne while a seeing winner drives.

Everyone wins.

Yeah, they take you out in all kinds of cars AFAIK. I had a distant relative who worked there on an emergency vehicle full time. He has been retired for some time and it's a slow job, so perfect. But he's pretty old now, so I don't know. I used to get pics from the place when it first opened. They drove everything Porsche made at the time.

I think that's because you can get training in whatever you buy.

Back in school days we used to say "Beggars can't be choosers". I'd be thrilled to drive almost anything on that track.

Guess I should have said that you can buy. And if you can buy some of those, they've got Pat Long to show you around.

OK I admit that I did a little news media editing and skipped the the rest of the sentence. "They drove everything Porsche made at the time." A good news editor can make it sound like you are saying whatever they want. But I digress.

Bump, #3

Have not attended any driving schools, would really dig it though.

Maybe I will go catch a ride at Sears Point next Spring with Trekkor if he is amenable.
