Not so bad. You get what you pay for. The tear drop will work but I bought this trailer because it is foldable. There are better platforms for your project at competitive cost. I also bought a spare tire/wheel. I do light duty occasional hauling and put the thing away upon mission accomplished.

I was going to add that my first mod would be to redrill the hubs for 5x130 lugs and mount a pair of polished 15 inch Fuchs.
What frame would you recommend that is a better platform?

I'm sorry I can't recommend anything for your needs. My needs were diffrent so I took a pass on a lot of rigid trailers in the 4X8, 5X8 size-range. I had contempleted erecting and dismantling a simple pup or dome-type camping tent for warm-weather travel on this trailer down the road. In the alternative, since I pull it with an SUV, I could keep my vehicle uncluttered for sleeping with all the crap, including a camping stove and gas tank secured in nondescript boxes on the trailer with a locking hitch.

I will never own a trailer with tires/wheels/bearings that are that small.
But then I've got a 3/4 ton pick-up that will carry far more than this little toy. |

I fine most things at HF as a kit. Plan on some re-work to get things right....

I have had two of those things. For what I used it for it was great.
The big one...sold for $300: ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us The little one, I got for free from a fellow PCA member and I made it a dedicated tire trailer. Been to Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio, VIR, NJMP and a bunch of trips to Summit Point. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I vote that is is CHEESE.
Check out craigslist and buy some ugly piece of iron made by a redneck with a welder. Probably cost less and deliver more. Larry |

Va Steve, do you have pics and diemensions of the wheel hub? I have a pair of 15x6 Fuchs that I'd like to use. Wanna make sure there is enough meat to restud in the 5x130 pattern.

The fact that those trailers come with the tow hitch, lights, axle and springs, PLUS the paperwork to obtain title and plates makes them a bargain if you sold off the frame for scrap and built what you need.

My dad used one to haul an ultralight airplane around. Worked OK.

I have one, it's ok for the money. I bought it to fold and stand in my garage, in retrospect I wish I'd gone with a non-folding 4x8 with sides on it as I now store it under my deck. For the size it is HEAVY, the lights are pretty poor, the hitch is a bit temperamental, and one of my casters for the vertical storage is broken. But for the money you can't go too wrong. Mine has quite a few miles on it with no issues.

I would go with a regular 4'x8' trailer. Here is mine. You can pick one up for around $600. Has leaf springs, 5 lug wheels, lights. All around just more heavy duty. Mine has a serial number and titled.
