I continue to love minimalist dishes that just burst with flavor.
Fettuccine with fresh campari tomato (the best tomato ever grown) and olive oil sauce and fettuccine with olive oil, parsley and roasted garlic. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1584662306.jpg |
Do you add sugar to the tomato sauce, like they did in "The Godfather"?

Made a pizza tonight. Homemade sauce simmers for about 3 hours. Homemade dough, fresh mozzarella, Asiago, mushrooms, onions, Italian sausage and Pepperoni. It was really good but I miss having my pizza stone. I had my wife order a new one for the grill today. Next pie will be MUCH better.

Tried a new place today. Twice.....a late lunch and then dinner at 6pm with Mom. I brought her the ribs (see pic below) and earlier had their Briskpork II sandwich with smoked mac and cheese and hand cut fries. Everything was very delicious. They have a LOT of positive reviews on Yelp. I chatted with the owner (Uncle Chicken) a bit and he and his staff are working their tails off right now - plus he's opening up another restaurant right next door. I thought he said he wants to open up 64 of them eventually. He's retired as an event photography business where he had 90 employees, so he's got to have a decent background in business. His daughter and a couple other family members work with him. I always appreciate seeing a family run business. While I was waiting for my order he was washing pots and pans while we talked. Hustling!
I'm looking forward to trying out other items from the menu. Even though they are pickup and delivery only they also have a whole row of picnic tables set up for those wishing to eat outside there. Very clean too. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585352705.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585352705.JPG |

Here is my wife’s favorite meal. Been making it a lot hoping ginger will boost immunity. :)
It’s a Taiwan ginger sesame chicken soup. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585578375.jpg |

Red wine braised short rib with rosemary garlic toast. Too rich. Way too rich. Chopping the other one up and tossing with egg noodles. Looking forward to smoking these in the future.
