What's a 959 worth these days?

A Silver 959 showed up at the shop this week. Rumors are it's worth $400 to $600k. What would you consider low miles. I think this one has around 11,000.

thanks,

Isn't there 2500 mile per year limit on those to be federalized? Do they even come with miles on the odometer, or only in km, since they weren't importable until many years after they stopped making them?

Don't know, but a very interesting tidbit of info popped up on Top Gear this week. Boris Becker bought a brand new 959 when he was 19!!! Hell of a sweet ride for a teenager.

I was living in Germany back then and Boris Becker was in the tabloids then as much as Michael Jackson ever was here. I took this photo in Berlin in 1988.

Although there is no doubt about the iconic status of 959s, I have decided that I am underwhlemed by them and even if I had the means I wouldn't purchase one. But, if I had the means, I'd do everything to pry free the Yellow Bird:

thanks,
$400-500K is probably the money. It depends on whether it has been modified and/or federalized. Canepa has done a few EPA/DOT conversions on the 959s.

Interestingly, that's also what a nice Ferrari F40 brings.

I know which one I'd spend my money on, if those were my two choices to drop $450K.

I've heard Bill Gates drives his around Seattle all the time. I'll be at his office in a few weeks and hope to see it, if I happen upon the parking garage.

A fellow Pelican's (JackMan) son recently took a photo of a silver 959 (looked real) parked on the street, in the snow, in Aspen. Not a bad "winter beater".

The car you speak of has been around a while; it's not real but it's a pretty nice kit.

Boris Becker was just on Top Gear UK, (16x02) he talked about how he had that car when he was 19 years old, and he got it up to 200mph in Italy.

Yes, his speeding tickets were also in the tabloids. I think he got into trouble in Switzerland, Monaco and Italy several times.

I saw it across the street from my hotel, last saturday night, during the Xgames. Had me fooled if not real. Sure sounded real when it left. I was in my room when it fired up. Luckily, my room overlooked the corner it was parked on. Made my day.

The one here sounds like 911 mixed with a hoover.
