Rant: The love affair with Sid (Crosby) continues.
Versus had advertised the Boston/Montreal game to be broadcast tonight.
Lets see, which one to televise? a) 2 "Original 6" teams (one being the Cup champions that have won the last 8 games in a row) with a difference of one point this season so far (score 1-0 after 20 minutes: hi energy and emotion). -or- b) two teams with a 12 point difference (one team in the basement of the Eastern Conference and 2nd from dead last for the entire NHL (score 4-0 after 30 minutes: boring except for all the man-love for Crosby). But hey, lets watch the Pittsburg/Islander bloodbath because Crosby is playing!!!  I am so sick of the love affair with Crosby. Rant over.

Joe: Skidmeat is a big draw for the NHL as you know and the hype of his return is also good, got us talkin. Is he the best player in the world - no but he is a talent for sure and I like that he's back, there was a time that I wondered if he was ever going to play again.

Missed it and don't know what the final was but I see MAF had a shutout & Sidney had 2 goals & 2 assists. First game back in a little under a year...
THAT'S why there is a love fest Joe.

Yes its overdone, just like everything else in this world anymore. Isn't your beef more with the news and networks, rather then a player who's been out for almost a year and comes back and makes an immediate impact? Obviously they want him and need him for the popularity of the sport. It's not his fault he just so damn good.

Im no Cindy fan
 but the guy can flat out play. Despite his whining I give him props for delivering the goods. Speaking of the Original Six....does anyone else think the Winter Classic should be played by O6 rivals? (intentional hijack here).

Joe, you think he isn't tough enough? I am certainly not a fan of him as a role model sports hero type character, and I really do not care if he plays another game, but he sure as hell is a great player who I think is plenty tough enough. He took an "accidental" elbow from a Bruin, is that the problem? I guess Savard was not tough enough either? Christ, it was that wee little **** Cooke that took him out.  But you felt differently about that......Or Lindros, ya he wasn't tough enough either.....
