1957 Sebring 12-Hour Grand Prix Race Profile

We published a look back at the 1957 Sebring 12 Hours today written by Louis Galanos.

The fairly significant 5,000+ word profile of the race is bolstered by more than 45 period racing photos. While much of the focus is upon the winning Maserati team of Juan Manuel Fangio and Jean Behra, multiple Porsches make an appearance too.

Great piece - hope you enjoy it.

Pretty sure my Mother was there, they went to a bunch of races back then and she even raced her Speedster and this one in SCCA races...

Very cool - thanks for posting.

The first photo is the winning MGA (23rd overall, 1st in GT1) driven by Canadian Ed Levans

The car was found in Ontario, Canada about 3 years ago and restored back to Sebring specs. I'm fortunate to be friends with the current owner, and he was gracious enough to allow me to bring it to Watkin's Glen last September for the vintage festival.
