I need a Mercedes repair manual

I have a 1986 560sec (W126). Anyone know where I can find a good repair manual? My online searches have been fruitless, i.e., without fruit. I want a shop manual or the equivalent.

You can try here. This is the official MBZ website for techs. You'll have to pay for a one day use or get a subscription. Honestly, the info in it is a bit confusing if you arent familiar with how the whole thing works.

I looked at Tekinfo and it said model year 1994 forward.

I wish someone worked for MBZ here in the US and could just stroll down into the basement and grab a three volume shop manual from archives . . .

The basement has some old wheels and tires, and a couple of uber-secret prototype cars stored, but no 1986 W126 manuals, sorry.

Startek is all I really have access to. So you're about 8 years too early...

You know, I think I have one . I am sure that I did. I cleaned out my bookshelves when I went computerized a few years ago, but I think I may have saved that one. If I find it , you can have it. I will look in the morning for ya.

Anyway, I was surprised to find that MBz offers workshop manuals (on CD) for cheap. - I checked my version, it only goes to 1984 (W123) . ..but they may have versions for yours.

I will also add that vacuum leaks are common in the door & trunk lock actuators. Being an SEC (2door) you should have an easier time than most.

What kind of problem is it? ...Do the door locks work okay?
