BGW Power amps from the 1970s?

Hey, does anyone know much about these amps?

One is a BGW model 250, which from what I can tell is rated at 90W per channel into 8 ohms, is NOT bridgeable, and NOT balanced. There are many iterations of the model 250, including a balanced and a bridgeable kind.

This one is interesting because it has no input trim or anything, it's very simple.

The other is a Model 600, which has balanced inputs, and is bridgeable, and apparently puts out 175W per channel into 8 ohms.

OOOH Look at those Cans!

It seems that some folks like old BGWs for home stereo applications, or studio monitor listening, and I want to price them appropriately for CL/eBay.

I think they are cool because they are REALLY well built. I'd keep them, but I got stuff coming out my ears.

Anybody? Thanks!

Gogar,
You had better see an ear, eyes, nose and throat specialist if you have stuff coming from your ears, could be serious!

They are notorious for going up in flames. I used one for a while to push my old SVT. Bridged it mono for 900 watts. One night on stage you could smell that "electrical smell", and from the looks on those close to the front of the stages faces I could tell something was just wrong. I turned around and it looked like a damn Kiss concert. I had to run through the monitors and front of the house the rest of the night. It was toast.

I had a 600 just like the one in your pic on the road for about ten years. Very reliable and sounded ok for a keyboard amp. When I "retired", tried it for studio monitors. No joy. Donated it to a Little League park for their pa a few years ago. It's still in service.

Draw your own conclusions.

They might be OK for raw power in the pro world but BGW & Crown etc were never viewed as good hifi amps. Bryston, Hafler & Adcom were the better choices for home use.
