Xtreme Pulse Tech Battery Charger/Conditioners

Anyone own one of these Xtreme Pulse Tech battery chargers/conditioners?

Basically, they inject a 4,000 hz AC signal on top of the DC trickle charger, to keep auto battery plate corrosion and internal battery resistance to a minimum. (why batteries go "dead")

State Patrols and DOT's use these, as well as the military to keep batteries in tip top shape even while parked un-used for months on end.

Guess this technology was developed for the military and is now trickling into the consumer market.

I'm looking for some real world first hand experience, as I think this is a much better Battery Tender than others on the market.

Sounds similar to a CTEK charger, which uses a pulse phase as well.

The CTEK has worked great for me. I also like the specific AGM (Optima, et al ) setting the CTEK provides. If I recall, CTEK manufactures the Porsche branded charger as well.

I have used the CTEK for several years and have been very happy with it for conventional and gel batteries...

Is there any thing wrong with the off-the-shelf Interstate trickle charger. I have one on my Yellow top Optima through out the year. I drove the 930 3 times last year. does it cause slow death with these type of Interstate charger?

Not in my experience. I used a Schumacher 2/10 amp trickle charger on a previous Optima red top, and I got 11 years from that battery.

I think the CTEK is a better approach, though.
