Thor

aahahaha... About to see this one. 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Thoughts? :D

masraum 04-22-2011 06:08 AM

I guess you're going to a sneak peak or preview. I didn't think this was out for a couple of weeks.

sc_rufctr 04-22-2011 06:46 AM

Maybe we got it early... GREAT MOVIE.

It was great to see the Norse mythology portrayed for a change.

I would recommend for everyone.

I remeber reading the 'graphic novels' as a kid. They need a bigger guy to play Thor. This guy doesn't have the size or hair for the role.

Interesting play on the robot though - old myth vs new technology...cute.

Hugh R 04-22-2011 09:00 AM

I haven't seen it yet, but I worked on it.

The guy actually had to take weight off. They measured him for his suit, he then bulked up some. Tried on the suit and lost feeling in his hands. He had to drop some to get the feeling back. He is bulking back up for the Avengers, filming starts in July.

This is one of the few movies I am looking forward to seeing this year.

Seriously, Angela?

I just don't get some people and their mindless visual stimulation... :D

masraum 04-22-2011 04:38 PM

I was thinking that the perfect guy for the part would have been the king of the clan from "The Thirteenth Warrior". That guy very much had the viking look to me.

I enjoyed the movie. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, so it had a touch of the classics in it.

Shakespeare meets Marvel as it were. I liked it better than I thought I would.

My son wanted to see it. And I felt much the same as you. (bold)

It is a good movie and it was refreshing to see something other than Roman or Greek mythology.

Look at the list Hugh gave to show you that Hollywood can't come up with an original thought. Just about every one a sequel or remake.

BTW, Hugh must have a fun job in any case...

Not setting the bar very high....

Chris Hemsworth portrays James Hunt in the upcoming release, "Rush."
Looking forward to seeing it.

I thought Thor the Darkworld was quite good. The Original Thor, meh, but we needed the Origin story before Avengers.

Thor Ragnorok: WTF was wrong with that director? It was a comedy. A really really bad comedy. I am SOOOOO glad I didn't pay to see it in a theater. I am sorry I paid $5.99 to watch it on Pay per view. The absolute worst Marvel universe movie. Worst. It beat Iron Man III!

legion 03-19-2018 07:49 AM

I liked the first Thor movie, and found the second and third ones to be lacking.

It seems that Captain America gets the best stories. Black Panther wasn't bad either.

two things, I don't see how you can retire, your job is too good

and, it looks like you are making another Lone Ranger, I thought I was the only person that liked the last one.

stomachmonkey 03-19-2018 09:07 AM

Thor.

It's a good thing he's cute cause he's not very bright.

I'll admit that I liked The Lone Ranger. Good movie overall.

I liked the campy stuff, kick the dead horse, wearing the bird cage when the cat was around, being a shape shifter and the crazy rabbits. I need to see it again, it's on tv but I just haven't watched it.

I enjoyed it too, but I'd be hard-pressed to think of a western I didn't like.

Thor I, II, and III were all bleh.
