Interesting question. Although the hammer is powerful and is the one doling out the punishment, the nail is small, sleek and sharp. Plus, the nail is usually shiny!

Ok, so my question to you, is the nail new or is it old and rusty?

New nail, virgin nail, never been used nail. Top of the line nail. Best nail money can buy. Designed to do the trick. Its a real not-afraid-of-the-dark nail.

I guess it comes right down it if you want to retire or work the rest of your life? Do you want to be constantly used or hold things together behind the scenes. Of course having a strong head is da bomb and a cool claw is pretty awesome! And don't forget that shank! Gotta love the shank!

The hammer has a violent job. It can be used destructively or constructively. It can be put down to rest, but you never know when it will be picked up again and put to work. A good hammer is always useful.

The nail could be used to hold items together for the rest of it's life, but it is basically a static, restful job. The catch is that that life can be interrupted by the majestic claw of the hammer, which will rip the nail from it's restful job and leave it deformed and useless on the ground.


I guess it comes right down to whether you want to be a tool, or be the one whom the tool is hitting on.

Yup. Nailed the hammer on it's head...wait, is that good?

I think our lives dictate we must be both.
Yes, we must be the ones who are dynamic and move things forward (or at times remove things past their purpose or wrong).

Other times, we must be steadfast and hold our purpose.

Without a hammer, a nail has little use.
Without a nail, a hammer is good for shaping.
