I'm glad there's a place where skin heads can be employed.

If you look closely at her head in the last video, you can see where a large area of her scalp was left on the pavement.

What's more disturbing is that it seems no one thought of reporting the apparent abuse when that happened, even the person who shot the video; not to the PPD but to the local media.

Sad to say that people like Rick and myself will end up paying for this azzwipe's aggression when the lawsuit comes up.

We need to settle a lot of them down...

I saw it on the local news...Channel 5. Hopefully something good comes from all of this. One problem as I see it...too many bad cops and not enough cameras.

Don't know if it's blood or a hair clip, but I'm fairly sure it's there before the hit. If you pause the video at about 1:57, as she's walking away from the cop, you can see that the red spot is already visible in her hair.

No offense intended Lee, but you are seeing things. You are not a police officer by any chance are you?

smack a human head into concrete like that & you can bet money on a serious injury, whether or not pieces were left on the sidewalk or not

city will no doubt settle this out of ct. & no jury will be involved

rusnak's earlier comments are a pretty close fit with the law; aways comments are off-base

Looks excessive to me. The only possibly justifiable reason a cop MIGHT have used heavy-handed "tackle" tactics was if they thought they were about to be fired upon... From the officer's perspective (disregard the fact he was already running for a moment and had probably already made the decision to tackle the perp), it's possible that he might've been concerned about her right arm being out of view and dropping. I realize this is thin, but also remember cops are trained to think that anyone and everyone is a bad guy out to kill them, everyone is a drug addict with a gun, etc. This guy was supposedly a 6-year veteran and should have known better by then (one would think) but perhaps some never outgrow the programming...

More likely I think this cop was a "tough guy" by nature, empowered with a badge and wanted to thump the girl's skull to teach her a lesson to "respect my authority". It's hard to know exactly what happened looking only at the video but if I absolutely had to pass judgement based only on it, I'd say it's about 80% likely the officer in question overreacted and 20% likely that it was justified.

The girl does sound like she's going to end up in a crack house and/or pregnant pretty soon though. Definitely not a National Honor Society student...

Hopefully the cop is using his PAID admin time smoking a little pot and mellowing it out a bit....

I've known some cops that were pot heads. Nothing wrong with that, as far as i'm concerned.

There are a lot of cops that really need to take a chill pill.
