Or even a burger with a poppy seed bun.

I don't know why companies waste time and money with this stuff. The vast majority of these tests are so easy to circumvent they are pointless.
Passing a drug test doesn't mean you don't take drugs. It means you can pass a drug test. |

Most labs, for just about all tests that I know of (all FAA, all Railroad, all Coast Guard, and all truck driving) raised the threshold for opiates years ago to eliminate any realistic possibility of "poppy seed" positive.
So to test positive for eating poppy seed muffins or bagels, you would now have to injest something like an entire wheel barrow full within 24 hours of the test to be positive. It is possible, with a non-NIDA lab, and some over the counter drug test kit to get a poppy seed positive. But a REAL test? No - you'll be negative. angela

Angela is correct. It is neigh on impossible to get a positive test by eating poppy seeds. Indeed, lab tests and other technical aspects have risen to the point where the MRO can distinguish many things. He can tell whether your drug was manufactured in a plant, or in somebody's basement, for example. I'll bet the OP does not get a call from the MRO. I'm guessing his lab report will be clean, and there will be no need for Px information.

Not so fast. I have a buddy the was just hired on at Halliburton and was a pretty hardcore pot smoker. Quit 45 days before his first day of work and they still got him on the drug test for THC. Sucks, but you know the risks.

It does weed out those who are too dumb or too lazy to try to circumvent the test and these are the people you absolutely do not want on your payroll. Having someone who is clever and motivated on the staff is a good thing, even if they smoke a doobie now and then.

I think THC is stored in the fat cells and can stay there for a long time. Also if you drink a lot of water to "pass the test" you end up releasing it into your system and you get busted.
