Taylor Car Collection

Visited the Taylor car collection in Gloversville, NY. An eclectic assortment, all road worthy and some real beauties. He has had some great barn finds over the years. Nice thing is that he actually gave a tour to our group and explained in some detail how he happened to get most of his forty + vehicles. Every car is registered (w/ vanity plate) and street worthy. All are driven on a regular basis and have battery tenders hooked up. Immaculate floor, humidity controlled and everything spotless. Lots of posters, models, auto memorabilia. A fun day.

Central NY chapter of PCA made the arrangements. There were two other organizations represented as well. Perhaps 100 people. He said normally he hosts smaller groups. He was very down to earth and answered all questions and gave everyone free range of the place. No ropes or barriers but I didn't see anyone actually sit in any of the cars. I believe it is by invitation only, just not open to the public. He seemed very welcome to have car folks visit.

He has been on world rallies with some of the cars.

Where are the Porsches?

widgeon13 06-25-2011 06:47 PM

He only has one Porsche in the collection a 928 GTS. He doesn't like the way they look. He does drive a Turbo Cabrio in the winter at his place in CO. Calls it his SUV.

Nice collection of Shelby's; 65, 67, two or three 68s, and to cap it off with an unmolested Cobra!
