So many wars and people have died under the guise of religion. If there is a God, I'm sure he's pissed off about so much killing with his name associated with it.

I don't think we want to look at the 'under the banner of which religion have the most people been put to death?'

The point is that whatever any book says, there are people who will run with the interpretation they want (try to find the rapture in the Bible) and claim their god told them to do it.

Domestic news sources almost universally referred to the Norway incidents as terrorist attacks until the false claim of responsibility by a middle eastern group was disproved and the Christian fundamentalist anti-immigrant perpetrator was identified. Then many news sources decided it was a "tragedy" rather than a terrorist attack.

The guy cited Tim McVeigh multiple times in his writings, BTW.

Mentally ill people will take up any excuse (religion, race, sex, etc,...) to carry out their criminally insane actions. Nothing to do with religion, just their excuse. If it wasn't religion, it would be voices in their head telling them to kill everyone with red hair, etc... We cannot understand criminal insanity...

you got THAT right. Just look at how the Jews have been persecuted throughout history. Tip of the iceberg.

If terrorists used comfy chairs and foot massages, then we could all be insane together.

Sorry. :(

I pray for those who lost their lives here and hope they and thier families will have peace.

But, to your point, I don't know about worldwide, but domestically in the US, our violent crime numbers are WAY down. But you never hear that. Most of our news is about all of the violent crime.

And I feel for these people. But unlike what occured in Arizona, no one fought back. Why?

Hard to fight a bomb and the majority of the casualties were children who had nothing to defend themselves with.

F'n coward picked a target which was essentially fish in a barrel.

This is one of those times that you hope there is a God cause that means there is a Satan and this POS will rot in hell.

I'm not talking ordinary crime, i'm talking nut job shooting sprees.
When i grew up, those were unheard off in Europe.. These last years :

Just now , Norway 90 something people

April 2011 , Holland 6

june 2010 , UK 12 shot

December 2009 , Helsinki, 5

March 2009 , Germany, 15

September 2008 , Finland 10

November 2007 , Finland , 8

May 2006 Antwerp 2

April 2002 Germany 18

September 2001 Swiss 15

I'm sure they would have been reported if any such events took place prior to 2000 in Europe..
But i can't find anything, nor can i remember any.

And typically they are not by immigrants.

Me as well...and I have a very thick skin.

Why is nexus. My sister was a prosecutor for over 24 years in South Carolina. When she had difficult death penalty cases she would call me just to talk (we are very close).

The "why" she could never answer...motive seemed only the fuse.

To all those affected, I wish I had more to say that could comfort.

Alas.
