A night away...

My wife and I are stealing a night and a day away from the kids - mom in law is subbing for us.

We're staying down by Disney land and planning a trip to the place sans kids (we have passes) on Monday. Sunday night we're staying at their Pier hotel (good deal).

We're going to leave fairly early on Sunday afternoon and I want to do something special for my wife - she's been working very hard this summer with the kids. Keeping them busy and what not and she needs a special 'her' night.

We're just so out of practice with this sort of thing because we have young kids and spend so much of our time on them and not enough on us. You know the story - I'm hoping to start changing that.

Suggestions? I don't have a lot of time to plan this obviously...

Maybe an excellent restaurant or some other strategy. She really wants a massage so that is what I'm going to look into first.

Well a day at the go cart track, then a round of golf and maybe a ball game that evening should keep her happy. Or maybe a day of detailing the Porsche.

have a good time..

don't overplan this one..
any good hotel will be able to handle the massage
/ perhaps have some other stuff plucked /filed down and painted..

if she wants to dance..you dance...
the trick too stuff like this..
unexpected and not Valentines day..
I have never in 30 yrs bought my lady flowers on V day..
I will pick up some tonight..
slip a card in her purse once in awhile...
a note in her pant pocket...

again don't overplan...
enjoy...

This place is close, but you may owe her another evening out if you go there

Every time I go to Disneyland I treat my wife to a deluxe manicure and pedicure at Mandara Spa (Grand Californian Hotel). She said it included a little massaging and really appreciated it.

If she is into it, a day to herself at a spa would be my first choice.

My wife doesn't like them so I sorta luck out there. A nice meal is all I need to pull off once in a while.

Yeah, I'm keeping her!!

Have fun, Mike. A day away from the little ones is needed by parents now and again.

When we were at NAMM (Anaheim CC) in January a manufacturer took us to Kya in the Hotel Menage. Actually quite excellent & different. Kind of tapas from around the world. Since you are in the area . . .

Wow! Listen to him! This is EXACTLY the stuff I would eat up. I hate getting stuff on those big holidays. So much nicer to get unexpected, thoughtful things. I bet your wife looooooooooves you, Rika! What a lucky lady!

Getting a massage is good enough. The rest of the night, make it all about her. Pay attention to her and only her. With kids, she probably hasn't had your undivided attention in a long time. Talk about things other than the kids. Talk about the person she is outside of being a mom/wife. Sounds like you are fine though... just the fact you want to please her, she will be pleased. Such nice thoughtful men here! Good to hear it!

Every ride has a speed pass kiosk. There is a button on the back that will cough up an early time saver pass or what ever they call it.

The Californian should be able to take care of most of it. That would include good dining. I don't know if that's absolute best, but it's easy and close. The problem with Anaheim is that the entire area around DL is seedy. Once within the confines of a nice hotel or the parks themselves, it's nicer.

Once you check in, leave your car parked. Much better to take cabs and trams.

A note in the pants pocket is very nice. I used to do this when the wife and I were dating.
Time to pick up the old habits!

+1

I used to leave them on the dash of her vehicle.
