Cool My 3000 sq ft shop summer paint job

Large Man Caves are always a work in progress.

My toy box.

Not the fanciest in the big baller world, but still not too shabby for us mere mortals.

My 3000 sq foot shop just got a new paint job this summer after I finished some cedar siding and T1-11 on the high bay.

it's been a 15 year work in slow motion progress. Yeah I swing my own framing hammer and pour my own concrete and pull my own 12/2 gauge romex. Hired the paint job out tho'

left bay is 30x30', mid bay 30x30', high bay 1200 sq foot with twin 14x14' huge doors and a 16' eave.

it's full. I need more room.

this garden shed shall not do........must I add another side wing for the maids' quarters?

It's just a paint job, but I'm a proud papa of my own progress and shop..........much better than the tree house I built as a teenager.

god loves us so he invented air nailers and power tools.

the 16 foot tall high bay is crying out for a 4 post or 2 post car lift.

"Dear Santa............I've been a very good boy this year and a hydraulic car lift would be sweeeeeeet".

Man that's beautiful! But I'm sure you know about the habit of filling up extra space when you have it. Should be fun tho.

R/C helicopter tour of the high bay.

for scale, the walls' horizontal side boards are on 2' centers vertical, so yeah it's 16' foot tall.

cool wall art too.

Nice shop, but I'm more impressed with the helicopter flying. If I tried flying one of mine in that tight of a space, it would be $40 worth of new parts to repair it!

In the helicopter video I like those roof trusses. Is that something you made up? Prebuilt? Designed yourself? Details please...

We need to work on your definition of "full"... That is nowhere near full...

ah yes, an awesome design build from a local pole building contractor.

good eyes.

they built the roof, I've done all floor and walls and electrical.

truss.

yes they're fully bolted through, 2 x 10's I believe, stacked about 6 or 8 thick.

major design point I mandated for the 36 foot wide span.

no Simpson Stampy Stapled Tin brackets with trusses on 2' centers in my shop!

mine have mammoth snow load rating on mine too.
