Cruisin the Coast
anyone going to be at Cruisin the Coast in Mississippi next week? 5-6000 or so classic, street rod, hot rod and rat rod cars showing and/or cruisin up and down Beach Blvd all week long. didn't have time to get my daughter's "new" 35 chevy in shape for the trip so she'll be driving my 26 rat truck with her boyfriend and I'm going to have to ride with a friend in his 2010 Corvette. won't be as much fun as driving around in my old truck but a hell of alot more comfortable. if anyone goes next week and wants to take a ride in a rough riding, uncomfortable and cramped but extremely fun little model t rat rod truck let me know. completely opposite experience of driving a Porsche but I'll bet drinks and a meal it makes you smile the entire time. if you're brave enough, you could even do a few burn outs. actually, it's hard to not spin the tires the first time you drive it.. we're going to be there thurs, fri, sat and sun

that's too long a drive for me. I'm sure it would be fun but probably not a 700+mile drive fun..
we once drove 5+ hours to a rat rod show in Shreveport, advertised as some great huge event, and there was only 14 cars there.. I own more cars than that myself. I'll never drive that far again for a car show. I can make one pass thru the cars and I'm ready to go so anything more than an hour or so drive is almost not worth the effort. cruisin the coast is a bit different. it's spread out over several towns, 29 miles I believe, plenty things to do and about the only time the entire year I get to spend a little time with my daughter. she's got a 7hr drive to get here, then another 2.5hrs to Biloxi but it makes me happy to make her happy so it's well worth the drive and expense for a few days |
