Not guilty.

The verdict was "Not Guilty".

i can't believe it. i am not saying she is guilty, as i have no idea. i just can't believe they let her off.

They saved face by keeping the conviction of Slandering the Police...What a bunch of crap. The truth isn't slander.

so, what do y'all think the real story is/was regarding the murder? i've read some stuff, but it seems contradictory.

followed this little, but she is going to be falling into a butt load of cash in the next few years.

She'd be better off with a book deal, THEN the playboy shoot.

naww, she wouldn't shamelessly attempt to exploit the murder of her dear roomate for monetary gain... would she?

I'm no police detective but it seems that the vast majority of people kill for a reason. Money, jealousy, etc. Only serial killers kill for the fun of it and there are very few women. They usually have signs early on of their killer ways. It doesn't seem like Knox fit any of these profiles so why would they even try to convict her?

I dunno, maybe she was involved, maybe she wasn't. Probably not enough evidence to convict, but this girl is nevertheless a bit creepy. She had a history of being a nympho that was unusually heavy into drugs and alcohol according to many people who knew her in college in the US. Then it was her weird behavior after being arrested... doing cartwheels and "splits" in the police station... WTF? Not proof of guilt, of course, but evidence that she wasn't quite normal. Who knows...

yeah, that is WTF-weird. seriously.

She is fluent in 4 languages, allegedly.

Now. She spent her time in Jail learning Italian, French and German. It was the reason for her term abroad in Italy.

They never had any evidence to start with. She was convicted in the media.

Wrong. She was acquitted in the media. There was plenty of evidence that she and her two friends killed Kercher. She's guilty all right. And she's gonna get away with it.

Um, like what? Everything that I have read indicates it was a 100% hack job on the side of the prosection....

I.E., she was Nifonged.

I haven't followed this in detail but her family is from my neighborhood. One of my buddies worked with a childhood friend of hers. She's not the angel the US media has portrayed nor probably the devil Italy thinks she is. I agree she was crucified and tried in the media and the physical evidence was not there. However, she threw her boss under the boss, the first guy arrested. He was held for two weeks but had a very solid alibi and was nowhere near the scene. Her behavior was odd. Her contradictions, confession, retraction, etc. all were bizarre. I heard a good quip from someone on a call in show here. She probably didn't do the killing but she knows more about what actually happened than she is sharing. What happened to the girl killed was horrible and I feel for her family.

They say she is a sex obsessed wack job. If that is true someone will be getting a good few days now that shes out after 4 years

What was the primary evidence against her?

#1. DNA at a level that was consistent with her living in the apartment.

- It has been noted repeatedly that this evidence would not be admissible in any US court

#2. A "Confession" while being interrogated without sleep for over 2 days, with no access to a lawyer. And when the "bits" that were floated to the media were expanded, you found out that the confession was a discussion with the police on what they thought might have happened.

The only significant DNA was from Rudy Guede, the third guy who was convicted, and his DNA was on her "inside and out".

Rudy Guede raped, killed and robbed Meredith Kercher. He fled to Germany after the killing. His bloody hand prints were found on her pillow.

The prosecution came up with the idea that this was a 3 way sex thing and that Meredith was killed because she wouldn't participate. No mention of a fourth person. Then they found Rudy Guede and his DNA everywhere and hand print. He claimed he was in the apartment, in the bathroom and only heard screams. None of this matched any of the real evidence. He was convicted in a separate trial.

They most damning thing against Amanda Knox was a foot print showed by Luminol. The problem is, more than blood is shown by luminol, so it isn't conclusive.

The only evidence against Amada's "boyfriend" was his association with Amanda.

This prosecuter and this police group has a history of creating a theory and then manufacturing facts to support the theory. The prosecuter spent 16 months in jail for manufacturing evidence in other cases.

Finally, her "conviction" of slander against the police is obviously a face saving measure. It isn't slander, if it is true.
