Bonfire Weekend

Happy Friday and have a safe Bonfire weekend!

We are having the usual, kennel the dog, light the bonfire, do a fireworks show, lots of friends and copious amounts of hot chocolate, beer and cider.

Never heard of it until two minutes before openning Pelican. The CBC National Radio News just had a feature about the practice being banned in Newfoundland. Strange coincidence.

Stay safe, and check your smoke detector batteries.

We've always enjoyed it, but George Washington put a damper on much of the festivity in America. It was called Pope's day here for 170 years.

I just hope the OWS people are historically retarded...

I hope so too. But if they aren't and it turns out like Guy Fawkes, then we'll catch them on a bomb and have them drawn and quartered.

We had a mishap with one of our firework repeaters. Fortunately no one was inured. I was shocked that something that wide would knock itself over. All in all it was a glorious night for a bonfire.
