They need to stuff that thing with the H6 engine. I have a 2001 Outback with that motor and it rules; Turbine smooth, plenty of power. With a good exhaust it would sound just like a 911.

Reading a lot about this car, sounds pretty nice. We may decide to sell the Cayman S and trade the Legacy 3.6R on a BRZ. Two down to one. Of course, every time I get in the Cayman S, I think it just can't get any better. But there are other factors. Anywho...

Needed a little stick shift therapy, so picked up a '25 BRZ Saturday. Factory ordered it with a short throw shifter and a couple other things. I'll leave it stock, I'm sure. Very light and turns quick and easy. Horsepower went to 228 in 2022 and torque up 15%- no more flat spot. Revs to 7,500 rpm. They also updated the interior red accents. WR Blue seemed the way to go. Fun little driver!

I purchased a few month old 2014 FRS Monogram series back in the day. Drove the thing hard everywhere. Track days, 72 miles to work and back each way, etc. Drove it to 160k miles without issue. What a fun car in every way. Light, not fast but handled great with great road feedback and it slid around a bit.

I actually liked driving it fast better than driving my Cayman S fast. You could really push that little thing hard and it just put a smile on your face without the worry of going to jail or the queasiness from handling g forces.

I’ve always like the FRS/BRZ/86 family of cars. Has anyone ever compared to the Miata RF? I’ve always wanted to do a comparison but never have.

I always liked the RF, but preferred a hardtop and a less common car. So, it depends on what you want. From I've read, the Miata has a nicer engine character and song. Apparently, the RF (edit RF Club) is the higher performance model, and I wanted the most pleasant street ride, which the BRZ delivers (even compared to the GR86) because the rear is softer and less tail-happy than the GR86. I'm 5'10", and getting into the BRZ involves folding at the hip to get in and out. Once in there, it's comfy. There's a high end tS, which compares better to the RF, but I wasn't looking for a stiffer ride or track days. Car and Driver compared these two, but it's a different comparison fo:r less high-strung models:

I was lusting after an RF because of the coolness factor of power roof. But, the BRZ/86 gives you an emergency pair of rear seats and is less dinero.

But, the Rf performance is a micrometer better for zoom zoom whilst the BRZ can hold more groceries than a can of tuna.

And so it goes back and forth.

I’ll probably just get a Prius Prime and flip the bird at every gas station I pass.

Nice! Same rally blue paint as my WRX, what a great color. I went with a Cobb tuner and it really woke the car up. Not changing the exhaust or anything else though. That's how guys blow their boxers
