Sketchers Slip-Ins

Just got a pair and I like them. I was looking for something that I could just step into and wear outside (flip flops don't cut it for me). I was skeptical, but thought I'd try them. You really can just step into them (with a little wiggling, but no hands needed). At $100 they seem a little spendy, but the price of any decent shoe seems outrageous to me.

Damn, $100 for Skechers? I guess it’s not outrageous if they’re comfortable.

They are popular with frequent flyers for getting through security.

I have had a pair of Sketchers slip ons for several years now. They are light, comfy, and easy to put on.

I have a pair of sketchers work shoes that had a yellow what I thought was grippy sole. One time, a coworker and I were up on the roof, when I started to slide down the roof on my shoes. He was in front of me, and as I slid down I sat on my butt and slid underneath him, with him landing on top of me. I got rid of the sketchers that day.

Now I use Romeo style Georgia boots. It takes a while to break them in where you can slip your foot in, but they are comfortable.

I have been thinking about trying them, they have a Wide size, and even though I have been wearing Van's since the 70s,,and they use to be one of my sponsors, I can't support them anymore with the direction they have taken.

These look pretty good and a decent price too.

I have a pair and they are great! I do a lot of airport walking and I thought they would get blown out pretty fast but they've been nice for a few months now.

I've been using these in my true size in their wide widths. Good fit and generally comfortable for daily use. Not for hiking or long walks I think. Perfect for airports.

I had a pair of their cloth slip-ons when I went to Japan - walked all over, and just perfect for stepping in and out of shoes off buildings - but sketchers stop making them. The above are a modest replacement, and are good for about 12 to 18 months. When the soles get thin they make for a pretty good driving shoe.

Yeah, I don't remember what mine cost but they were nowhere near 100 bucks.

I have regular tie up Sketchers sneakers and love them but I steer away from any sneaker with the woven top like yours. For some reason my big toe wears a hole in the top. I always look for something with leather on the top. I like the idea of slip ones but they all seem to be that woven material.

Sketchers Slip-ins and Slip-ons are different shoes. The Slip-ons are traditional loafer- style shoes and are about half the price of Slip-ins. Slip-ins are a fairly new product, while Slip-ons have been around for years.
I don't know why they gave two different shoe models such similar names - seems kind of stupid to me and the confusion can hurt them. "I bought a pair of them Slip-ons and I can't just step into them like they do on them lyin' TV ads." That's because they aren't Slip-ins.

^^^^ I've had a pair very similar for several years... all black, that are the "Arch Fit" style.... I'm limited in what my feet can wear. I love 'em.... but they don't seem to be available now .

They aren't slip-ins/ons by design, but 90% of the time I just stick my feet in, crushing the back portion inward and it stays flat even when I remove my feet.

So they are truly slip-ins ....

I had to pay a little more for these because they stated they are slip-ons and slip-offs.

I hope everyone is happy with their purchase. I started out with a size larger than true size and found that due to the built in stretch of the material they became too loose not too long in their service life.

I changed to a true size pair, and though tight enough that you have to actually put them one, it's not too long before you can just wriggle into them without feeling too loose and causing hot spots or slipping off.

I appreciate the big toe issue. The outer material is not particularly abrasion resistant, so a work shoe they are not.

Still, I'm at the end of my second pair and the new ones are waiting their turn.

Flatbutt-ette refers to those as old man shoes.
