Thanks!

Yes, probably but not me. I managed to learn how to record. Just. Anymore is way beyond my limits.

Time for Livi to take a USA road trip...Highway 49, the blues highway.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Route_49

It was at the junction of US 49 and U.S. Route 61 that blues singer Robert Johnson is said to have sold his soul to the Devil. The highway is also the subject of a song by Howlin' Wolf.

I would encourage you in the strongest possible terms. You are way past the clumbsy stage, and so you are in that zone where playing is already fun, and improvements are continuous, which increases the fun. Plus....I can see by the turns of your head that you "get it." You feel it.

My return to music has been massively satisfying. Music is completely absorbing. The search for improvement and perfection is endless, and the emotional returns are way greater than the input efforts.

Amazing! That is exactly how I feel about it. It feels really good having you tell me this. I thought I was an old fart that should have better things to do than plonk around with a guitar. Great! Thanks!

In my search for "Open Mike" songs, I was inspired by this video. Bluesy, certainly. It's got the cutsie little E-chord thingie. And it's pretty accessible. Recognizable.

Sam Cooke - "Bring It On Home" (CHORDS INCLUDED) - YouTube

And honestly, I incorporated some of McCartney's particular approach to that song:

BRING IT ON HOME TO ME / Paul McCartney (The Complete Russian Sessions) - YouTube

This is part of a larger body of recordings I am WILD about called The Russian Sessions, all of which are on YouTube. All the old roots-of-rock tunes. Twenty Flight Rock. Midnight Special. Tons of great stuff out there to mine.

Markus, it's time to start wearing sunglasses when you play... it will help your playing and singing tremendously.
