In remembrance of my Dad

Todd's loss moved me to post this. And I'm thinking some of you may be able to relate.

If it is to hard to read this is a story about my Dad meeting up with one of his buddies 45 years after leaving him on the beach in Okinawa. My Dad is the middle Joe.

Sorry my bad, no. Dad has been gone 6 years now. But I was moved to visit some of my remembrances.

Another member of the greatest generation. My dad never talked about the war.

Mine neither. When I started travelling to 'exotic' places in my government work; my Dad started talking.

Alzheimers got him to stop talking. It was a very narrow opportunity. Mostly missed.


I think of him every time I am somewhere he was.


Those of you that still have Dad around, invent some excuse to call him, right now.
