Best Source for Automotive Electrical Connectors?
I have been actively looking for an electrical connector piece for my mom's Volvo 960. The piece is a two pole black female connector for the engine block temperature sensor and is a part of the main wiring harness. My father was disconnecting the piece and it broke into several pieces. Is there any source for a new plug? I have googled and researched quite a bit trying to find this connector. I thought I should ask the brain trust. Used wiring harnesses go for $100+ on eBay for this car so that is not an option. The MALE plug is pictured below.

JB's recommendation is the best route. If you don't find anything there, try Mouser or Digikey. Its a long shot but judging from the size of the pins, it should help narrow your search.

If you can't find the exact connector, it might be worth a trip to the bone yard, and get a different connector. Find something waterproof, get BOTH sides, and splice it in. Or, just remove the connector altogether, and hard wire it. Just be sure to solder, and dual wall heat shrink it if you do. I've had to do this on a few of the beaters I have, but no one works on them but me, so it's not a big deal.
Not many Volvos in the yards around here, but I'll keep an eye out for ya. What year 960? |
