Facbook IPO?

What do you financial guys make of this?

BBC News - Facebook 'to go public with $10bn share offering'

I wonder how they're doing this. Wasn't Google's IPO sort of a Dutch auction or something? What's the expected opening bid on FB?

Be interesting when they open their books and we see where this evaluation comes from.

I'm no financial expert, but I think there is a bubble in the works for these internet companies. I'm staying away from them.

I kind of agree on the bubble thing. Very few have been able to translate an internet business model in to sustainable earnings/growth. Yahoo and Ebay were once high flyers. MySpace used to be the *(&^. Amazon does seem to have it figured out but their business is different. I think Facebook will have a tough time longer term once people tire of it. A trader who watches the stock daily might do fine getting in and out at the right time. I have no interest in that.

Social media has usually flopped on Wall St.-- groupon and Zynga just to name two. Avoid it.
