a fool and his money....i'm that fool..hahah.
well. i got Coleman stoves stuck in my brain. i got to searching and found a lantern. a modern dual fuel one, never used, NIB..$40. i paid alot more than that for mine and called the guy. he sounded cool, so i met with him. he had LANTERNS everywhere!! off all vintages. i got sidetracked with his brown weber kettle grill from the 60's..and ddnt check my purchase. i drove home to find the top stud of my NIB lantern has been hit and pressed down. it is loose and would leak fuel fumes and probably light my campsite up in an inferno. bummed i called him back.
he invited me back to give me back my cash. upon my arrival, he said he felt bad and offered me one of his vintage lamps! NIB 228 coleman lantern with the automatic flint lighter thingy!! whoa! i monkey rolled on it. we lit it up to verify it works (this time)..i screeched off. did i pay too much? probably! does my wife think it is cute! yes!! win!! she claimed it..and i get to keep my modern dual fuel. the instruction package is unopened. and i have the packaging for the ATOMAC sparky lantern lighter..($1.27, back in the day) i wonder if this will count as my valentines gift? ![]()
