Funny thing about music

It's timeless. It totally supersedes fashion and the current events of the time and just puts you in a place that's here and now. The technology might have changed, and the instruments, but the melody and rhythm (and vocals) are forever, and if a song is meant to be timeless it will find it's way through all the ages.

When my dad was about 14 or so, these were big hits

...continued

And these are a couple from when I was about 14 and they still sound as good to me now as they did long, long ago.

The common thread is that the people that presented these songs and gave millions such pleasure were to varying degrees, ****ed up in real life. But the gift of the music still remains and still brings joy.

Music comes from our benevolent overlords. That's the only answer.

I’ve got a few Glenn Miller songs on my playlist. Relaxing music and a change of pace.

When I was 14, The Wall was released. It has a few good cuts...

I've started listening to a lot of music from my youth, that I didn't actually listen to in my youth. My tastes have changed, but not the era.

Couldn't agree more. I just listened to the sound of music growing up for the most part. I still do that now with newer music, but dig into the lyrics a lot more.

There's something primal about it. Look at all the diverse cultures that always seem to have their own music.

Write it again (it’ll come out better), copy it, and post it again. There’s a lot of meat on the bone here.

Bot.
