You could buy a Cayenne for that...

you could buy a Mustang for the 40,000 1st year loss...actually a guy told me you could get it up to 92.... guess I've got a little sticker shock, seems like cars are going up fast

We bought our 2005 Yukon 2500XL with Quadrasteer one year old with 13K miles for $29K. Had a $54K sticker.

I have no doubt that the escalade will depreciate by the same percentages.

Probably about the same as with a new Cayanne or 911.

Since the Escalade has been largely unchanged since 2007, consider buying a used one and take advantage of someone else's depreciation.
Warranty is 5 years or 100,000 miles.

Less $ than a full size Range Rover. I think they're about $100k now.

I thought the older Escalades were less Suburban-looking, i.e. more body kit?

Me too. Lexus makes absolutely wonderful cars. Toyota reliability with luxury comfort. The MB GLs are too small inside. By RR I'm assuming you mean Range Rover? Hah, not in a million years. Cayenne's ok, but I'd have a hard time driving something with a Porsche badge that was that boring.

My folks got a Tahoe that was used by the Olympic officials in Utah. Got about $30000 break on what it was new. Can't see paying 5 times that price for a new 'lade, probably do better in a wreck than my miata.
