New season of Top Gear worse then ever

Just sat down to check out my Dvr recordings and checked briefly on the last episode. This one was to pick out the toughest minivan, Really can they pick out a worse subject for an hour long show? Don't they have a budget to test new cars anymore. Please kill this show so something better can replace it.

Well, I just watched the last 6 TGs from the UK & I gotta say, it doesn't have the magic it once had. The boys are obviously scripted - especially Hamster - and overall the enthusiasm level is down. They still have some funny segments but . . .

The US one? I have never watched.

I really enjoyed the latest UK episode

Top Gear [18x06] - Car Videos on StreetFire

but then I have a Caterham and will pretty much watch anything with a 7 in it. Morgan was fun too....

US version is a total waste of time. The cars they drive are lame and the hosts are even worse. Some one really needs to put the show out of its (and our) misery.

I agree. I really thought it would do well, given the first few episodes but I guess not.
The episode I caught had them racing new Mustangs against horses. I was bored and turned it to something else. (No, it wasn't BECAUSE of the Mustangs.)

Whatever happened to Carolla's show? That had potential.

This is Top Gear at it's finest--as far as I am concerned on a Friday night after a bottle of shiraz/cab:
Top Gear - Reliant Robin space shuttle - Richard Hammond and James May - BBC - YouTube

apologies if you have seen this before...

OK fine, I'll be the lone dissenting voice. I'm starting to warm up to the US version. It started slow but the first couple of seasons of the UK show were pretty lame too, didn't anyone watch it back then?

I'm not a fan of minivans but I don't care for the Campers that the UK version did a whole hour on either.

The show they did on pickup trucks in Alaska was actually pretty good.

I do wish they'd change the hosts though. I don't really like any of them and don't see that changing. Top Gear is always about the hosts, the cars are just background.

The Robin was the funnest. The best travel one was the South America trip out of the Amazon.

The US verison is absolute crap. The host are completely incompetent TV personalties. Its simply painful to even watch, like when that fat bastard is trying to convey a macho imagine of being some kind of misunderstood car guy. Lets not ever get started on how the quote "comedian" got the job, he is not funny or a car guy.......sad simply sad.

I don't watch the US TG, just the UK version. But this season for the UK has been re-runs, best of stuff.

Huh??

The new season of UK Top Gear started seven weeks ago. It airs every Sunday night. Last night, they looked at the new M5, participated in rally-cross and had Slash drive the reasonably-priced car.
