B-day party for a deceased sister.

Hello.

I'm just curious about your opinion on a strange topic.

A Family I know has had a death in the family which was slow and agonizing.
This whole family has had major emotional detachment problems in letting each other go even after they had married.

One of the Daughters has passed on.

They are having a B.Day party for the deceased. It is in no way with balloons and
loud music.

What is your opinion on this-curious.:confused
-btw-I find this most bizzare.

Kinda weird to have a birthday party for someone that will never get older. If it makes them feel better I guess it is OK for them.

It is in no way with balloons and music? Then what are they going to do? I mean, that is the definition of party.

I thought the same thing, but I think what he was trying to say is

"It is in the normal way with balloons and music."

That is a rediculous party idea. They need to let go and move on, live among the living. Unless there is lots of alcohol and food involved it will be totaly depressing.

If you don't put it right out front, it can sneak up behind you and knock you down.

Sounds like an annual celebration of life. We do it all the time as a society; e.g. Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays. I see no reason why a family should not do that if they think it's alright.

It's not for us to judge.

Is it an anniversary or remembrance of the person who is gone or is it the denial that they died?
