Earth Day

Today is Earth Day.
Lets finish strip mining this plant before we move on to others. ;)

dan88911 04-22-2012 08:57 PM

oops! Planet

I made a fire from a mahogany tree I cut down, and cooked some spotted owl to celebrate earth day.

URY914 04-23-2012 06:47 AM

I had a bowl of snail darter stew and a gopher turtle casserole. The gopher turtle is a Florida favorite. ;)

sammyg2 04-23-2012 08:26 AM

I poured my used motor oil into a ditch and then lit it on fire, just to watch the weenies cry ;)

The people in my division wanted me to assign front row parking to all of the Hybrids today. I didn't do it in the end because it was a hassle, however I got to thinking... Wouldn't an "earth conscious" person not mind the walk from the parking lot to the building?

john70t 04-23-2012 09:15 AM

....because air/water/food pollution (with subsequent long term economic/health/quality-of-life effects) only affect a certain political portion of the U.S. population...?

Earth Day......

Thanks for the heads up! I've been saving some old tires and motor oil to burn. Might top it off with a pitcher plant and wild fern salad.

For the Earth Day nay-sayers: Burn it inside your house with the windows closed.

Otherwise, you socialize the health of others.

I ran over a group of conservative, right wing, Christian Republicans who were out trying to kill a spotted owl.

URY914 04-23-2012 11:25 AM

I had a pair of Earth Shoes in 1977.

Read the rules doofus.

RWebb 04-23-2012 11:41 AM

I thanked Richard M. Nixon for signing most of our environmental laws.

spammy - it is good to hear that you will be following the rules now!

I hear Jesus is coming, Sam. Rumor has it that he is pissed.

It is an intangible drummed up episode of 'caring' and being especially responsible for the planet on this one day of bull crap.

Every other day is essentially-a turd in a punch bowl and to get a drink - he who dips their cup farthest from the turd will least be afflicted and will almost taste the subtle nuance of the real booze in the punch.

Earth Day or Lenin's birthday? Coincidence? -- Nope

s_morrison57 04-24-2012 05:18 AM

I'm drilling for Urainium so we can build reactors and have clean power, that counts right?
I saw this comercial only once and it was on the local station and it said " last year X gallons of motor oil was sold in BC and only 3/4 X gallons were recycled, where did the rest go" really made me think about it.
