Canada F1

Oh Canada. Been waiting for this race, one of my favourites. I've been there many times, but not this year. Great city and easy getting to the track and always a good race. Much protesting by students (supposedly) this year and they've already affected
thursdays free pitwalk. (Cancelled) I sure hope they stay away. One of Shu's best tracks, and Hamilton's. Both could use a good race. Bring it on! PS. Anyone who's not been to Montreal should go if possible, it's very fan friendly and still quite reasonably priced.

9dreizig 06-05-2012 10:06 AM

what the hell are they protesting ?? THis is over the line in my opinion.. either jail them or shoot them,, we're trying to have a race for pete's sake!

yellowperil 06-05-2012 11:15 AM

I think they are protesting a rise in tuition fees., Although I've heard they have very low
fees now. MAYBE it's about having summer fun in the city streets under the guise of a real "cause". Only my opinion, and I'm probably wrong again. Just hope the race is good to go.

Lowest tuition in the country and they would still be the lowest one after the raise.

Lot of "protester" are professional $hit disturbers

Was there last year with the wife. Great week-end except for the 2 hrs under need a poncho but in the end it was ran and won on the last lap :)

yellowperil 06-05-2012 11:33 AM

You nailed it, bro

creaturecat 06-05-2012 03:06 PM

the students have said they will not disrupt.
the protest is about far more than tuition fees.

s_morrison57 06-05-2012 03:39 PM

I haven't heard anything other than the tuition fee thing and IMO if you don't like the fee's then go get a job, eh tabernac, sometimes Quebec really makes me mad, the whole country supports/pays for their stupidity and now these students want to screw up a 100 million dollar week worth of cash to the city - don't get me started, time for some B slaps IMO.

Its almost like an ingrown to nail... it hurt but it feel good when you cut it and put Aqua Velva on it (circa my Navy days in the late 70's) :D

You had your chance in 76... but the Liberal had to save the country.

 Figure that one out, I vote Liberal once in my life and I think that the only good one (Liberal) are the dead one ;)

As for support/pays, "we" I and the majority of the country, live in God country (ON) and are collecting money from the Federal thanks to some ex NDP Premier (now interimely leading the Liberal party) and some present Liberal Ontario Premier...

But we should stop before we get kit out to Parf (like they would know what we are talking about ;)

But agree with you, don't like the fee, get a job trou de cul...

Btw, Mtl F1 race is not only one of the best circuit/circus but the cheapest one. Last year 3 days Gold tickets sitting in line with the start line was $500.

rusnak 06-05-2012 05:40 PM

Bernie can have a few dozen of them tasered and tossed over the fence..

JJ 911SC 06-05-2012 05:56 PM

Bernie might get tasered himself as he is not a crowd favorite from his antics that resulted in a no race in 2009.

The rumor is (and supported) that the drivers got really PO about the cancellation and he revised his $35 Million/5 years deal to $15 Million...

Hopefully Austin will survive the initial $25 Million/10 years and wont get suck-in by him... Then again he should not be around in 10 years :)

rusnak 06-05-2012 06:03 PM

Bernie picks his nose and more than $35 Million comes out. He can order a dozen drivers to be tasered too...

Your right - no-one would know what we are talking about in PARF but if your a conservitive then you need to give yourself 5 hard backhanders. You type like your a Tabernac'er too, wake up man - Harper is effin the country.

Beg to differ on Harper - best PM we have had for a long time, about time someone goes and cleans up the messes of previous mis-governments - including other conservative ones.

The immigration things that Jason is doing - fabulous. The new EI provisions - fantastic, albeit perhaps not far enough. Smacking down the lobbyists on the northern pipeline debates- about 'effin time.

I hope he manages to reform the senate and put in a flat tax before he is done.

But then again, I am from Alberta and what would a redneck know.

And just to keep the insult balance neutral (my heart is not really in this kind of thing), if you voted NDP - donate your organs as you obviously are brain-dead.

Just joking a little on that last part...

tire choices

With track temps so high why wouldn't hard tires be available? Or did I hear that wrong?

+1 on Harper. Best Fed. govt. we have had for a long time. Not a redneck but do like the west. Alberta economy is doing okay. Can see Calgary/Edmonton growing and are good places to live.
Thanks Montreal for hosting the F1. Good job on stopping the students from spoiling the race.
Cheers:):):)
