Things to do in Scottsdale?

Hi all I am traveling to Scottsdale AZ on business next week I will be there for 6 days. What should I do or see while I am there? Are there any auto or motorcycle related things to do? Any off road places to rent a quad or sand rail? Can any area Pelicans recommend something? I have been to AZ before but never this particular area so have no idea how to spend my free time and I will be traveling alone so need to occupy some time.
Thanks

It's between 108 and 111 every day here now. I don't think you'll want to rent a quad or spend much time outdoors. If you want to beat the heat and see some scenery, rent a car and drive up to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. This time of year, the only thing to do in Scottsdale is stay indoors and hunker down.

Thanks for the advice

Penske Racing Museum is in N Scottsdale. Penske Racing Museum

Buddy Stubbs is pretty cool if you like bikes. Motorcycle Museum conveniently located in Phoenix, AZ near Avondale, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Carefree, Cave Creek, Scottsdale, Mesa & Chandler, AZ

Golf is really cheap during the summer and almost empty courses.

Enjoy, you don't need to hunker down. Drink more water than you think though. If you are not peeing, you are not drinking enough.

Skip the mall for the coffee shop/bagel place/whatever early in the morning. They're out in force before they scuttle back to the shade midday.

The Penske museum is up there and is free - worth the price, too!

I know a few of the resorts have off-road rentals right in the hotel. I go out there a few times a year for company meetings, always wanted to try it but I'm not sure if they are sissified or liability restricted if you know what I mean...

If you're here on Saturday visit the Pavilions car show. It's the longest running car show in the country. Turnout can be lighter in the summer, but still plenty of nice cars to see.

word. if your throat starts to feel dry, you're already dehydrated. It happens pretty quickly.

Yeah, the summer isn't much fun for people who aren't from these parts. Golf is cheap at some really great courses if you can get an early tee time or at twilight. Most people in Scottsdale hang out at the resort pools, which are plenitiful in Scottsdale. It is hard to do things outdoors in the summer here because even night temps don't drop much below 100 degrees. :(

Stay indoors. Drink a lot of water. Come out after dark. Cool place to live!

If you like guns, Dillon Precision is in the airport area. They are the guys who make the mini-gun that is used by US forces around the world and they do give factory tours of their reloading factory.

Also Scottsdale gun club in the airport area has some very nice rentals...

Let us know when you will be around and may have a get-together.

Really? Where?

Scottsdale does have a high concentration of men in Affliction shirts though.
