Not familiar with Kangals. Interesting breed, assuming this article isn't total hype. Anybody have one?

Not one of our dachshunds, but no doubt, our male Reuben would do that if given a chance. |
There was a BBQ at the dog park my brother goes to. His Siberian Husky took an entire tri-tip off of someone's BBQ. The former owner of the tri-tip didn't take it well.

There's been some work in this area around here.

Izzy had her fourth and final Parvo booster this week. She weighed in at 11.5 lbs. One final round of shots in two weeks and she will be good to go. Anxious to get her socialized with other dogs. She is terrified of big dogs. Had her for a walk in the neighborhood yesterday. She was approached by a large dog on a leash. She shreiked and peed herself. Incredibly sad to see her so terrified.

This 6 year old boy's GSD knocked down the boy to get him out of the way of a dog charging at the boy at full speed before fending off the dog. Online it says the other dog was put down by Animal Control. Good!

About a week ago we had a visit from the Texas Tornado.
Since her brother passed a few weeks ago, she has become a lot more protective of her mom and her human sister. So when they got to our house there was a lot of barking between her and our Winnie. The first day they wanted nothing to do with each other, but by late in the second day they remembered they were friends and could play together. I think our Winnie got a little jealous, because the grand-dog will actually retrieve a ball if you throw it, dropping it at your feet, where if she gets the ball, she runs back to you, then veers away and runs around like an idiot. Here's the two of them, tuckered out from fetching / running. They're in my spot! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1743440620.jpg |
No...that's THEIR spot! Please deploy belly rubs from all of us, Rockfan.....:)

From today. Mrs. Carrera had me working with her in her flower garden. The dogs wanted to keep us in view to bark at any threatening squirrels, and bark at and chase off the bison, elephants, wolves and lions. The back and tan is the male, Reuben, and the long hair dapple is Reese, the female. It is a shame they can't get along. She is 14 and he is 12. It was in the upper 60s, and they were hanging out in the shade, just watching us, just their noses in the sun. They are best friends, and always together. She has her eyes closed and is napping. Reuben had his head down until I approached to take the photo. |
