Here's a video of my friend Melissa and her Heeler "No Worries Jake"

She's been working with Jake now for a couple years in agility.

You can see they still have a ways to go - but not too bad.

BTW....he's not suppose to stand there and bark like that - it's a timed event. She says he does it because of his personality..ha ha.

BTW - she's one of the ladies in the Carolinas who run a rescue organization for ACD's. They've helped save a bunch of Heelers over the years!

Here's a video from '09 from their organization showing their work in rescue.

Inspiring to say the least...

Thank you for those videos, made my evening!!

If ANY of you watched the video there's one thing that you will notice besides that the dogs are heelers.

Watch their eyes. These dogs are very intense on their owners. Cole sleeps pointed towards us if he's on the floor or his bed. If by chance he's snuck up in the morning onto our bed he's on guard sleep with his eyes towards the door to protect.

Anywhere Joanna is during the day Cole will be in a straight line to her most often between her and a door.

They STARE at you waiting for your communication with them

Cole has various barks.

Let me out
Kids are home
MIL is here!
SIL is here,
My mom is here
welcomed guest is here
I'm HOME
I'm going to work today!!!!!
Squirill.
SOMETHING doesn't belong in the back yard! (coon,Rabbit,Egrett,posumm...)
Joanna has fallen! get here now!
Joanna is moving!
FEED ME.
Someone is at front door
Throw the ball damnit, throw it!
lets play
TUG, no really TUG the damn rope.
Get away from my truck.
hey! look at me! yes! I'm a f'n cattle dog look!and lastly,

Balls stuck

Yup!

As far as toys....mine love to dismantle squeaker toys. They go for the squeaker and then rip the rest of it to shreds in the yard. The only time I really care is when I have to pick up all the fuzz so it doesn't blow around. I'd rather they destroy it in the yard than eat my stuff. Oh and if you go to petsmart after a holiday all the prior holiday's stuff is 1/2 off (or more). They destroy it anyway, they don't mind a pumpkin toy in December or a bunch of Christmas stuff now.

On my ACD, he seems to have more white on the edges of his eyes than the Lab/ACD mix I have. His eyes stick out further as well, so he looks "happy" while the other looks "serious".

Just adopted this little girl from KS. She was purchased as a gift for someone and they didn't read their rental agreement and had to give her up. The adoption/rescue is going to transport her to CO Tuesday or Thursday next week for us.

8 weeks old and 5 pounds right now. Boston Terrier and Pug mix is what we have been told.

Deuce, the 8 year old, 100 pound American Staffordshire Terrier that thinks he's a lap dog. Doesn't he look so vicious cuddling the puppy?
