I've used cream cheese or pimento spread to get a pill down my girls' throat when necessary.

You can also use peanut butter but it's a bit messier.

Give her a belly rub from the girls, please.

Best,
Baz

Thanks Baz. I was able to get the pill, (huge), done with some goat cheese.
And belly rubs where given!

American cheese slices or even better easy cheese in a can. (What I do with my own dogs and what I learned in the small animal ICU 22 years ago). Hope she feels better soon. If she's really off her food, call your vet.

I gave her some srambled eggs and a few pieces of leftover steak after the pill. I just got back from some errands and she ate most of her dog food. She has always been a bit finicky about eating, only eats when she's hungry. Unlike Maxx that would eat anytime!

Again thanks for all the well wishes.

She's thinking: "I don't know how yet, but I'm going to make you pay for this"

I wouldn't wear that! No way!

My Colbicheese, (Colbi), had an accident yesterday. Playing hallball somehow she severely lacerated her front top gum. She bled so much she had to spend the night because she became anemic. My new company car had blood all over it. I was able to clean it up, mostly on the plastic. She's fine now. But she had to have 7 stitches put in. I got to pick her up this afternoon. Here's a pic at the vets. Her tongue is so red from the blood.<br>

These dogs play hard. And I've never seen a pill they wouldn't take with a little peanut butter. But you seem to want to go gourmet.

Mark, give Colbi girl a big hug from me. Hope she feels better!

here's one of my rescues. he just absolutely loves riding in cars. he prefers the 911, though. ...he's kind of bored in this one, today....

Embraer 12-24-2013 05:39 PM

here's the other. he doesn't like cars, too much...so he builds himself a troll den in the back of the car.

he's a rescue, has no teeth, and no lower jaw..but still manages to eat. his previous owner burned him..so he's missing the fur on his hind quarters. considering what this guy has been through, he has the most pleasant soul.

It's not wanting to go gourmet. When I picked up the little girl I assumed I'd be feeding her soft food for a few weeks, wrong. Apparently the way a dogs eats is the difference. A dog will put his/her snout right into soft food. Hard food, which I feed them is eaten differently. They will just grab it and chew. That's why I didn't use peanut butter. It could have gotten stuck where the stitches are and caused problems.

Yes they play HARD.
