Hi CrustyChief,

Just awonderin if your going to eventually introduce Spot to actual aircraft flight? If so, what is your game plan? We just submitted an application for a rescuer adoption on a 12 week old little guy, shown above.

Cheers

I have had him in the helicopter sim, He wanted to sit on my lap which is ok in the sim but definitely not safe in a real cockpit. He will fly eventually but it would be in a kennel, or on a short leash with someone in the back seat.

Thanks, don't think it will be an issue. Application shot down, no pun intended.

look on Craigslist. That is where I got Spot. I drove 2.5 hours but I got him! try an area search. Sorry about the application, I talked to a breeder and she wanted me to read a bunch of books and said she would give me a quiz on them..!? I declined , went to craigslist and brought home a dog.

The Mrs. Is going to meet Keith tomorrow at a local Animal shelter. I would also go but work will prevent that from happening.

Found this guy too, his name is Hobbes and is an older Aussie mix.

he touched the wife's heart because it reminded her so much of both brothers we lost last year. Oz and Merlin........

Waiting to hear back on the inquiry email sent yesterday about Hobbs.

Tessie made us laugh by her intense focused look.

Awwwwww......all beautiful dogs Bugs....inside and out! Good luck and keep us posted, sir.

Some of you may remember my friend Melissa's dog, Jake. Well...he just had surgery to remove his eyes after a year long battle with an eye condition. They tried everything and ultimately Jake was in too much discomfort to not do this surgery.

Please keep Jake and his family in your thoughts today.

Jake will acclimate to his new condition but obviously things will never be the same. :(

Will do Baz,

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jake and his family for a speedy recovery. It will be tough at first but will acclimate.

Adoption update-

Just got word that Hobbes is currently doing a foster-to-adopt, so we are happy to hear that he is in a good home. In talking with the head of the senior sanctuary. She told us of a 13 year old Aussie mix that has had it kinda hard these past few years.

His human dad passed away then a year later, his human mom also passed. He was adopted by another elderly person when just recently, they had to go into an assisted living facility leaving him, once again in need of a good comfy stable home. If personalities are compatible, he may be with us.

This is Rusty

Sad story, but I know that Jake will adjust. We had an Australian Shepard who lost her eye sight very quickly, and she learned the house and her surroundings in no time. She was never exactly the same, but no eyesight certainly didn't change her attitude. I will hope for Jake to have a speedy recovery!

I vote for Hobbes or rusty. An older cattle dog has all of the personality and intelligence without all the crazy.

And with this breed a ten year old will still give 5-6 good years.
