Thanks Baz. Just picked up her ashes today. A good friend of ours who has a printing company did a 20 x 24 of the forget me not pic and we had that framed. Also picked that up this afternoon. Sort of a melancholy day.

This was Sunday as she was going downhill. That's our son and DIL's pup. We will survive.

Take solace in knowing you did the right thing Paul - an act of love - regardless of how heartbreaking it was for you. It takes time but it will get better for you emotionally. Thanks for posting these beautiful photos - please continue as the mood strikes.

I do think Mr Sir Henry has adjusted quite well to our lifestyle. With the exception of the rare days he gets a wild hair up his wazoo and decides to lead me on a 1/4 mile run just to poop on someone else property keeping just outside of my reach.

Ya gotta love the mini schnauzer personalities, or I should say stubbornness.

From a member of the ACD group on FB....very touching story......

https://scontent-b-atl.xx.fbcdn.net/...b5&oe=54EFD2C1

Look at this sweet baby. I don't know his WHOLE story, just pieces and guesses based on his behavior. I know he started life on a puppy mill farm where his tail was docked and dew claws cut off. He lived there for 7 years before being sold to someone with a farm the next state over. Some time between then and 3 years later he ended up back in his home state but far from his original home in a high kill shelter. The number disconnected on his microchip, his stray hold ran up and he was given 2 days to live. I pulled him the minute the shelter opened the first day he was made available. He's had a rough time since then. He bit a vet tech and was put on quarantine hold while recovering from a neuter and dental where 8 teeth were removed. I got him back 10 days later and took him back to the vet for X rays of his hios/knees/elbows because of and chronic limp. This time I restrained him for sedation and took him home immediately after X rays. They showed perfect hips and knees but arthritis in his elbows so we started him on adequain, cosequin, tramadol and as needed Deramaxx. He was underweight when I got him and shut down. It's clear he had no early socialization and was never taught manners. All he knows is to cower and show his belly if anyone is scolded and to fight back if you try to restrain him with force. Be being soft and patient I can do anything to him. He falls asleep in my lap for nail dremels and loves laying on the couch to sleep all day. He's He's a product of harsh training but with some work he's overcoming that and is working on his CGC. He's a big grump that is sure the cat will taste like chicken but he's the best old man I could ask for. I don't know if he'll ever be adoptable because he's definitely a bite risk but he's perfectly welcome to live out his life with us expected to do nothing more than lay on the couch and go for walks. This is Chip my very sweet special old man foster dog.
