Are you fat?

And if so, why?

Jim Richards 07-12-2012 06:48 AM

no

Groesbeck Hurricane 07-12-2012 06:48 AM

So, what is your history/story????? Before we all "come clean"?

BRPORSCHE 07-12-2012 06:49 AM

I don't consider myself fat, but I am definitely not skinny. It all comes down the lack of exercise. If I worked out just a tad bit more I would feel fine.

Mark Wilson 07-12-2012 07:01 AM

My story - not fat, but easily 25 over idael weight right now. Weight seems to come and go depending on stress level. A really crappy excuse.

Got on the elevator this morning with 7 other souls. Six were grossly obese. Saw a 350 lb homeless guy downtown yesterday. Fat has become the new norm.

What if I am? You wanna fight about it?

I'm overweight by about 40 pounds.

According to the government BMI chart, I am obese. But I can also pick up an engine block or transmission (or keg of beer) and carry it across the shop, and win or lose, I can barroom brawl with the best of 'em. I don't see too many fatties who can carry a load - other than a load of ho-hos.

If I would quit drinking booze and eating randomly, I could probably lose that 40 pounds and be a real menace.

944Larry 07-12-2012 07:02 AM

yep, I like to eat, drink and be merry.

944Larry 07-12-2012 07:06 AM

"and be a real menace"

Cash-I love that one. I suspect you're a real menace now!SmileWavy
Oh yes, and according to the gov chart I am morbidly obese. The people I work with swear I don't look that heavy but then again nobody calls me slim either.

livi 07-12-2012 07:11 AM

I am all muscle. Including between the ears..

recycled sixtie 07-12-2012 07:21 AM

I am definitely not fat. 170lbs and 5'10". I prefer it this way. Easier to move around and do physical exercise, less chance of being diabetic, less chance of a stroke, less chance of a heart attack. My wife pretty well manages my diet. Lost my mancard years ago!

smokintr6 07-12-2012 07:23 AM

As it turn out I am a little "fat". Mostly due to not eating as well as I should.
The one disturbing thing my doctor told me recently is that technically I meet the chart definition of being obese, and my chart says under chronic conditions "obesity". At 5'-9" 203, I doubt anyone walking down the street would say I was obese. The only reason this bothers me, is I feel like insurance companies will use this against me at some point. Either with higher premiums, or reduced care. Who knows, but it makes me nervous

I would like to know how many other obese americans can do this :p >>>

According to the BMI, I am obese. If you measure by % body fat then I am 20# over my ideal. My doctor would be happy if I lose 10#. According to the pool I am not a duck.

motion 07-12-2012 07:32 AM

I'm 6'1" and 174 pounds. Feeling a little overweight right now and trying to get down to my target of 168lbs. Fat people freak me out. I think I have some kind of phobia. I can hardly stand to see them. A trip to Costco and all the fat people leaving their carts in the middle of the isles to get free samples puts me on a starvation diet. Yeah, kinda whacked, but it is what it is.

Same here on the BMI and according to my doctor I'm in perfect health at age 65. He has not pressed me to lose any weight just to maintain my current weight.

I am a golden god.

widgeon13 07-12-2012 07:54 AM

6"1', 185 lbs and yes I can do a head stand.

Scott R 07-12-2012 07:55 AM

I keep around 10-11 % body fat 6' 2 and 195 lbs when I cut, and I'm completely "ripped" as people like to say, however that's because I'm an amateur boxer and an amateur MMA fighter.

This is my "second job," or hobby, so if it's not your thing and you're happy, then why worry about it? If you enjoy food and etc, enjoy it. You only live once after all. Seems to be too much ephemeris on people being within some "chart" these days.

(besides what I eat on a daily basis would probably drive most people nuts)

widebody911 07-12-2012 08:13 AM

6'2" 260# That approaching locomotive will want to think twice if I'm sitting on the tracks

onewhippedpuppy 07-12-2012 08:21 AM

Yes. Though I don't give a damn what some chart says. I think I could stand to drop 20-30 lbs, I'm about 6'1" and 230 right now. I'm not a small built dude either, so I won't ever be a stick figure. Sadly I'm too busy with school, work, and family to exercise much. Or maybe I'm just lazy, but busy sounds like a better excuse.:D
