Saw Purple live several times and that man was awesome.
Sad news to say the least <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/tsO26Pgm6qI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Darn. I have been a fan all of my life. One of the first concerts I ever attended was Deep Purple in Seattle in the early '70's.

Bummer. He sure could beat on a B-3.

Deep Purple was the equivalent of Industrail Sludge..

I remember sneaking in to see the early Deep Purple when I was 15 or 16. I asked a guy by the door if anyone was looking, I realized later that was Ritchie Blackmore who did NOT fail to impress me.

I had a bourbon with him once. A loss.
With Whitesnake, before the horrid 80s version..... WHITESNAKE-HERE I GO AGAIN - YouTube! |
His solo on 'Highway Star' was one to remember!
