How many 2012 US Olympic athletes?
 

I looked and wasn't able to find out. Anyone have any idea?

I do not know how many athletes there are, but I do know that the company I work for, ARAMARK, has 3,000 people on staff for food and cleanup. We don't have all the venues, but we do have Olympic Village.

I'm no slouch in searching the internet for factoids, but this has me stumped. I could go through each of the US Olympic sport team websites to count their team members, but that's so ...... pre-internet.

Shouldn't this be basic info?
