Surface plate. The 918 is a precision instrument.

LOL i've got a 3' x 4' granite surface plate in my shop and it was really expensive. I can't imagine how much one that big cost, no wonder that car is $800k!

It's cool but can it pull a 2:58.34 around VIR, cause at its price-tag the Camero is a much better deal

At the expected $845,000 price tag, you can bet it won't win any bang for the buck contest.

But it's a hybrid, so at least you get your own traffic lane in California.....

What a beauty. The latest edition of Excellence says that those are 'temporary' 991 rear lights...the gap around them does looks extreme. Does anyone know if those are the final rear light assemblies and if not, are there any photos of the final lights mounted?

Agree - the gap does look extreme. I haven't see any better photos, but Porsche has some precedent in the GT1.

If I had the money to buy one I would have the money to be able to tell them to put a Carrera GT front end on it.

The car looks stunning in person and certainly drew a crowd.

800 horsepower, 800,000.00. The Germans like precision.

I don't know what that means. Why can't everyone just speak like us 'Muricans?
