The Kiwi black stig and his M8E/F 9000cc 800hp 1800lbs Sunday morning warm up. Black Stig won the afternoon McLaren race by a straightaway. ![]() ![]() First time out for the Camaro. Only ran 12 laps due to weak oil scavenge dry sump. Time to re do the sump system. Ran a 1.39 out of the trailer after a 10 month restoration. Not to mention my first time driving it at a track I had spent a DE day at 10 years ago. So most improvement in time will come from the driver. lol ![]() Lance Smith/Huntinton race cars the guy that restored it, transported it and provided track support, very helpful. HUNTINGTON-CARS offers excellent value for car collectors and racers, specializing in restoration and preparation for Trans-Am, Grand National, vintage autos, race-rods, hot rods, Can-Am, Greenwood Corvettes. ![]()

I'm pretty sure that Ted is still driving it. I periodically see him post about it.
Yep, a very recent post in another thread. Looks like Ted has actually doubled down on the Camaro action.

Very cool!
I assume you're familiar with "Big Red Camaro"? I read an article about that one WAY back (late 80s, I think) and thought it was the coolest thing. Your build reminds me of that.

Handsome hot rod. ![]() ![]() I am jealous of pump gas race cars. ![]() Last Friday first time at the new Buttonwillow Circuit track. New engine, new track, fun test day with POC. The 10 is entered into the next Reunion race.... 21 IMSA GTO cars and 10 GTP cars racing together over 4 days. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by ted; 04-06-2025 at 12:54 AM.. |

Awesome! Good luck, and have fun! The motor sounds MEAN! I'll bet that's a ton of fun to drive.

Cars and Cappuccino

Funny this 13 year old thread got resurrected. I got to witness some Trans-Am racing this past Friday. The Marcus Smith and Rick Hendrick families just unveiled the new 10/10ths Motor Club in Charlotte. It is a really beautiful club house with an awesome road course with a surprising amount of elevation changes directly adjacent to the Charlotte Motor Speedway. On Friday they conducted two 25 minute long races on the road course. Not exactly my preferred style of racing but still pretty cool. Lots of Camaros, Mustangs, AMX's and even a GTO ripping around the track.

Nice to see some hijacks and American race cars on this old thread.

I enjoy the 10 car but I also enjoy our 5 car. A Pancho Weaver chassis in the Porterfield livery as Andy Porterfield raced it into his 80s. ![]() ![]() Last edited by ted; 04-07-2025 at 09:18 AM.. |

Anyone here heading to Reunion in 2 weeks?
My race friends in a Capri, Camaro, Buick and Firebird all raced Pro in the 80s. We are pitted together again on the right after you enter the main gate. ![]() ![]() Just pulled it out of a banana grove. ![]()
