Hearing water in heater core...
Dudes, I have a 1995 F150, whenever I press the accelerator I hear running water in my heater core. I did replace that at one time but wonder if it is the core that needs replacing or maybe my water pump is about to go kablooey.
Need this truck to run until May at which time my budget will allow for the purchase of a new(er) truck. Thanks

Don't think that it would have to do with water pump, but maybe something else is causing cavitation in HC or (?) I'd certainly look into it but I doubt it's an engine problem. Hope that helps.

I am getting reports that this is a common problem with the older model Ford trucks. Maybe I'll just bleed the radiator out a bit to see if I can get rid of it. But it is cool that it is likely not an engine issue.

My Land Rover did that, bleeding the system helped. If there's no air in the system, there's no place for the coolant to slosh to. To confirm that you don't have a leak, most OReilly/Autozone type places have cooling system pressure testers available for free as loaner tools.

My '96 f-150 did this after changing the coolant...ironed itself out but keep an eye on your coolant level. A slow leak can show up this way if you take too much for granted.

man, my chevy did this. it was driving around will a tranquil stream in the truck.
i researched it, and the dexcool coolant was prone to "Gelling". it would partially clog the heater core. i disconnected the hose and flushed it..just the core separately. i isolated the core. made it 90% better.
