Spare parts though? Fuggedaboutit... I held what was thought to be the last set of pistons for the R5 turbo in my hands about 15 years ago...

I'm not part of the French car scene, so I wonder how they do it? There's a guy living next to a friend of mine that has had a mint Peugeot 505 as long as they've been there (late 80s, early 90s).

Never imported through normal dealer channels. They were only brought in as grey market. In the mid- 1990's a few were available in the $10 to $12k price range. Same for Lancia Integrale's as low as $7,000. All based on the platform for the Group- B rally. I also remember seeing an imported Ford Escort group B road trim equipped here in the US. Neat era.

There used to be a silver R5 running around the west Chicago burb's. Your's? Late 1990's looked at one for sale sitting at a corner gas station. Oddity.
